Embracing a growth mindset means constantly finding new ways to maximize our classroom space and strengthen my instructional practices. As these ideas evolve, I add to this Classroom Wish List so that I can purchase resources as funding allows. This year, I am thrilled to be teaching 8th grade English Language Arts again, while also taking on an exciting new role as the Gifted Facilitator. I am an 8th grade science teacher at a title 1 school. My students are a mix of mainly standard classes with ESE students. I pride myself on providing my students with more hands on labs and in class demonstrations than other teachers. I petitioned our school administrators for a Jr high shared lab space and was given a classroom to use part time but we still need to finish stocking it with basic supplies like soap dispenser and paper towel holders. I am also a proponent of taking hand notes because research shows students retain more information through writing and at my school most students do not have folders, binders, paper or pencils so I provide them for them to use. Your help in giving needed supplies to students is greatly appreciated.

This is my first year teaching at KHHS and just switched grades. I will be teaching 7th grade math inclusion. I will have students with learning disabilities and/or need extra support in math. I am looking forward to this year and the students I get to teach. Thank you for any support you can give.

We work in groups, individually and as a whole. My student’s come to school hungry at times or just need a snack. I will also use snacks as rewards for doing as expected or going above and beyond. Many come without basic supplies which I provide to make sure they can do their work. My goal is all students are able to learn without disruption.

Florida’s CTE Culinary Arts program (Course Number 8800500) is a 4-credit sequence requiring students to master standards across Career Readiness, Safety and Sanitation, Food Preparation, and Kitchen Management. The curriculum aligns with industry certifications like ServSafe. The benchmarks integrate employability skills, food safety and kitchen management. Please help our classroom!
