About the Classrooms
J. Banalewicz
Hello! I teach a diverse group of middle school students each year. My goal is to take students from wherever they are starting and improve their math knowledge. I strive to help them understand the why of math so that the skills are more than just memorized for the year, but become lifelong knowledge. I teach them to problem-solve and tackle complex concepts by working frequently in small, targeted groups. Having a well-stocked classroom ensures our daily activities run smoothly and allows us to focus entirely on learning. The items on my wishlist are specifically chosen to support this high-energy, collaborative environment. Contributions toward my list will provide hands-on math manipulatives like color tiles and dice-in-dice, along with photo storage boxes that I use to organize and distribute these materials seamlessly to each group. Because some middle schoolers need more movement to focus, I have also included active seating tools like wobble chair feet and sensory strips, alongside daily essentials and motivational rewards. Your generosity gives my students the physical tools they need to collaborate effectively and build true confidence in math. Thank you for your amazing support!
