About the Classrooms

L. Bassler
Help support my amazing 7th, 8th, and 9th-grade ELA students! Because of our school’s policy, students cannot bring their own supplies, so I provide 100% of our daily learning tools. My goal is to make sure every student has equal access to notebooks, pens, markers, and books from day one. If you’d like to help me stock our classroom and take the burden off these kids, please consider donating. Every little bit makes a massive difference! Thank you! ✨📝

I work with a diverse population of learners, many of whom face significant academic, social, emotional, and financial challenges. Our school serves predominantly low-income students, and many have learning disabilities, behavioral needs, or have experienced barriers to success in traditional school settings. The items on this list are intended to support both the academic and personal needs of our students. Some requested items, such as deodorant and other hygiene products, help ensure that students have access to basic necessities that many families struggle to provide. These small resources can make a significant difference in a student’s confidence, comfort, and ability to focus on learning. In addition to academics, our school places a strong emphasis on social-emotional learning. We teach students important life skills such as self-regulation, emotional awareness, and healthy coping strategies. Items such as journals provide students with a safe outlet for reflection, brain dumps, goal setting, and processing emotions. Positive reinforcement tools like stickers help us celebrate growth, encourage positive behaviors, and build students’ confidence. Every item on this list helps create a supportive, welcoming environment where students can feel valued, successful, and prepared to learn. Your generosity directly impacts students who need these resources the most and helps us meet both their educational and personal needs.

My students thoroughly enjoy our hands-on culinary classes! They love learning through food, eagerly mastering new techniques and trying ingredients they wouldn’t normally experience. On lab days, their excitement is palpable—they can’t wait to start cooking and proudly show off their creations to peers and staff alike. While we are fortunate to have most of the items on our list, our current equipment is outdated, worn, and well-loved. Every donation helps us upgrade our kitchen, and we are so incredibly grateful for your generosity!"
